Preparation Steps:
- Wash the Toor Dal and pressure cook it with water, turmeric, and salt until soft.
- Heat oil or ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds until they crackle.
- Add chopped onion, garlic, ginger, and green chilies, and sauté until golden.
- Add chopped tomatoes along with red chili powder and cook until soft.
- Pour the cooked dal into the pan and mix well with the masala.
